Bernard is back

Things you don’t notice till you see the end credits of a good movie.

Bernard Cribbins  famously known for playing wilfred mott in doctor who 2008/2009.

Bernard is no stranger to fighting the daleks as he had done it once before in 1966 when he played a character called Tom Campbell who was a constable for the police force, who got wound up in the Doctor’s adventures by accident after seeing the doctor’s police box in the film Daleks Invasion Of Earth 2050AD.

Doctor Who – The End Of Time

Part One 25/12/09

It's the Tenth Doctor's final journey – but his psychotic nemesis the Master has been reborn, on Christmas Eve. With both determined to cheat death, the battle ranges from the wastelands of London to the mysterious Immortality Gate, while the alien Ood warn of an even greater danger approaching, as a terrible shadow falls across the entire Universe.

Part Two 01/01/10
The Doctor faces the end of his life as the Master's plans hurtle out of control. With the sound of drums growing louder, and an ancient trap closing around the Earth, the Doctor and Wilf must fight alone. But sacrifices must be made, and the deadly prophecy warns: "He will knock four times."

David Tennant stars as the Tenth Doctor and guest stars include John Simm, Bernard Cribbins, Catherine Tate, Timothy Dalton, David Harewood and June Whitfield.

The End Of Time is written by Russell T Davies and directed by Euros Lyn. The producer is Tracie Simpson.

That red dog collar that the master is wearing makes me suspect that whoever orchestrated his return is trying to restrain him...YEAH RIGHT! I think that the Master had his return already planned out and used Lucy Saxon as his means of doing it. I still think it was her who picked up the ring at the end of season three. Still not sure how poor Wilfred Mott fits into all this, but I do know this. The Master likes anagrams, and Wilfred Mott is an anagram for Timelord FTW!

Clues: The End of Time

  • In The End Of Time, we will meet a new type of Ood. Russell T Davies revealed this in the Q&A after the press screening of The Waters Of Mars. And little else, apparently.
  • Check the trailer below to see some of the the returning cast which includes Bernard Cribbins as Wilf, Catherine Tate as Donna and Jacqueline King as Donna's horrible mum Sylvia.
  • Expect to see a lot of Bernard Cribbins the specials.
  • As you no doubt know by know, John Simm returns at last as The Master with Alexandra Moen as his wife. The Master will it seems be even more unhinged. Then again, he has been dead.
  • The End Of Time also features Jessica Hynes, (Human Nature/Family Of Blood) two-parter. Other returning names include Billie Piper as Rose Tyler, Tommy Knight as Luke Smith, John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness (can you see him in the clip above?)and Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith.
  • Timothy Dalton has been seen in photos dressed in the style of a Time Lord (Omega?), but so far he has only been heard - as the voiceover on Comic Con release of The End Of Time trailer.
  • The first clip of the Christmas episode will be shown as part of the BBC Children In Need transmission this coming Friday, 20th November. The scene is apparently around three minutes long. (Ed's note - this clip won't be available on the BBC website)
  • Part two is apparently 75 minutes long - as revealed by RTD in Doctor Who Magazine, this makes it the longest single episode since the show returned to our screens.
  • The End Of Time is apparently the title of the second of the two Christmas specials. The name of the first episode has yet to be confirmed and we'll find out what it#s called on Christmas Day; part two is expected to be screened on New Years' Day.

Appetite whetted yet?

New End of Time Snap

Bernard Cribbins and David Tennant in The End of Time

Two legends of Doctor Who - Bernard Cribbins and David Tennant - are snapped above in a scene from The End of Time. But what is that the Doctor is holding?

On first glance it might appear to be a really large packet of Marlboro - but this would of course be most uncharacteristic for the Doctor!

According to Den of Geek, the book the Doctor wields is called "Fighting the Future", by Joshua Naismith. Joshua Naismith meanwhile is a character in The End Of Time, played by David Harewood (Tuck in Robin Hood) eagle eyed fans will spot in the trailer.

Meanwhile another book by this Naismith character appears on an ad on the side of the bus in Planet Of The Dead... The plot thickens - especially when we consider earlier photos taken by fans while certain scenes in a bookshop between David Tennant and Jessica Hynes (Human Nature) were being recorded...

BBC Audio have recently released some information regarding a new exclusive Doctor Who audio adventure which is set for release next year. The story will be titled 'The Last Voyage' and it will be written by Dan Abnett. David Tennant, who plays the 10th Doctor in the Doctor Who, will be the narrator of the story and the cover for the adventure's CD can be seen above whereas the story's official synopsis can be viewed here on this site below;
The TARDIS materialises on board the maiden voyage of a pioneering space cruiser, travelling from Earth to the planet Eternity. The Doctor has just started exploring the huge, hi-tech Interstitial Transposition Vehicle when there is a loud bang, a massive jolt and a flash of light. Shortly afterwards, he discovers that nearly all the passengers and crew have disappeared. Unless the Doctor and flight attendant Sugar MacAuley can take control and steer the ship, they could crash-land - or keep slipping through space forever. And as if that wasn't enough, something awful awaits them on Eternity.
The Last Voyage is scheduled for release on the seventh of January and it will go on sale at an RRP of £9.99. It will follow on follow on from the previous five new series audio adventures which are currently on sale and are titled; Pest Control, The Forever Trap, The Nemonite Invasion, The Rising Night and The Day of the Troll. Doctor Who The End Of Time Photograph

This is how the doctor will look in tonights clip from The End Of Time, and he looks like he is going on holiday!
He is wearing a Hawaiian-style garland, a straw panama hat, sunglasses, and a safari-style jacket, on top of a dark blue shirt and a brown T-Shirt, despite the snowy white backdrop and snowflakes in the air, so it looks like he is going somewhere chilly, but very sunny, the Ood Sphere perhaps?
The clip is supposed to be two or three minutes long, I will have an international version online afterwards!
A press release claims the two-minute exclusive will be broadcast as part of the BBC Children in Need show tonight, BBC1 at 7.00pm. So is it on earlier than originally planned?

Waters of Mars Image #6

Adelaide and the Doctor - looking for something to drink?

Our daily series of Doctor Who images from The Waters of Mars continues today with this - Lindsay Duncan and David Tennant looking for something with a small torch and a radio that resembles an old central heating timer...

There's horror, suspense and darkness aplenty in the next episode of Doctor Who - and whether the Doctor will leave the Mars base pioneers to their fates to die on the red planet is apparently just a single element of this...

60 minutes of Doctor Who awaits UK viewers at 7pm on Sunday, 15th November on BBC One!

(That's tomorrow!)
