At Nottingham's Britannia Hotel, Doctor Who was named best TV programme by the British Fantasy Society as part of FantasyCon over the weekend - and the award was received by none other than Dalek scriptwriter Rob Shearman.
Interestingly, the writer paid tribute to head writer Russell T. Davies and executive producer Julie Gardner, as well as adding that people had "laughed" at the idea of and his involvement in the resurrection of Doctor Who.
So another prestigious sci-fi award for the series - but what's this? Another?
Former Doctor Who producer Phil Collinson ws on hand at The Seoul International Drama Awards 2009 last week where the award for Favorite Foreign Drama of the Year (voted for online) was shared by CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and the 2008 run of Doctor Who!
"Thank you. It's a beautiful evening,'' Phil Collinson, the Head of Drama at the BBC, said in Korean during his acceptance speech for 'Doctor Who'.
"It's my pleasure to be here in Seoul, it's an amazing evening. It's an amazing honor and privilege to receive this award for 'Doctor Who'. It's even more special because it has been voted for by the viewers. Thank you so much,'' he said.
Great news - the series continues to grow around the world. Long may it continue!
