Dr who - series 6 could amy pond be river songs mother

Remember when i posted this -Dr who - series 6 Amy Pond will fall pregnant – but is it Rory’s?- well on gallifreybase theres been some talk that river song could be Amy ponds child.

Back in September’s issue of Doctor Who Magazine Moffat said of Episode Seven that…

Oh, yes, feel our cruelty – you will see the Doctor’s life change forever, you will gasp in astonishment at the true nature of his relationship with Amy Pond…

this poster suggested that:

It would be hilarious if River Song is Amy & Rory’s child.

I’d be bloody shocked about "the true nature of the relationship between Amy and the Doctor" (paraphrasing from memory – forgive me) if it turns out Amy is the Doctor’s mother-in-law!

I wouldn’t put it past Moffat to come up with something so crazy…

Then another poster took this idea and really ran with it:

Oh you….hide it in plain sight, eh?Shhh

Think about it dramatically.

We first meet River at her Death in Silence.

The earlier incarnation of the Doctor sees her "die"..or saved.

Then its all timey wimey and meeting in the wrong order.

Then we see Rivers diary stating the best Tardis Pilot she ever knew was Amy, with a picture of her.

She also states that she was taught by the best pilot she ever knew but the Doctor wasnt there that day.

Now this, apart from being a casual remark . She wasnt talking about the Doctor, it was Amy…her mother.

so Dramatically it makes sense for the Doctor to be there at Rivers birth….and to discover who she actually is….and who Amy and Rory really are.

Good call.

So what do we think could she be Amy's child?

I can't decide if this theory is more likely or less likely given the regeneration scene from Day of the Moon. Is it possible that when the Silence told Amy she had "been there for many days" it was long enough for her to give birth? Or have I completely missed something?

@ATyson: I agree.. And the child regenerates. Ugh. This is giving me a headache.
